BODY COUNT

Issy Knowles presents BODY COUNT – a one-woman dark comedy exploring the new era of sex work as a competitive sport. The production follows Pollie, an OnlyFans creator attempting to sleep with 1,000 of her subscribers at the Edinburgh Fringe, tracking her journey from a Catholic upbringing and failed consulting career to the world of extreme online stunts.

Written and performed by Knowles and directed by Mimi Pattinson, BODY COUNT examines questions surrounding sexual agency, male extremism, the objectification of women, and whether it's truly possible to sever your body from your heart.

BODY COUNT aims to hold up a mirror to the ugliest parts of society, forcing audiences to sit with discomfort and confront their own complicity in these systems. The Fringe production used immersive techniques – handing audiences blue balaclavas to position them as Pollie's faceless subscribers – to create an intentionally challenging experience.
